GEALAN set itself high objectivesFrankenpost, 28/12/2015
“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”
Managing Director Thomas Fickenscher opened GEALAN’s 27th traditional Christmas party with this quote by Henry Ford in the festively decorated ATSV Oberkotzau hall. Most of the staff, including retired employees, were present and listened intently to what Fickenscher had to say.
The company generated €63 million in revenues. 2015 marked another great leap for the company: Improvements in production, refurbishment of the machine fleet, standardization measures, quality offensives, changes in administrative personnel and more were all successfully implemented. “We want to maintain and make progress on precisely this standard.”
Many thanks were expressed by Fickenscher, especially to the company’s foreign subsidiary, GEALAN Czech, which has the “JIS glovebox” project well under control. “GEALAN HungaryPlast is also in the black now, following its official opening ceremony at the beginning of the year,” stresses the Managing Director. Success generates new orders. There are numerous new projects in the pipeline for 2016 and mould business will nearly triple.
Reinforcements are needed, a new construction project is on the horizon and further investments are planned More projects and a rising number of orders received mean more employees and increasing space requirements. “This is why we decided to transform the former Jackstätt building at our Hofer Straße 70 property into a project space.”
Preparations for the modern office concept, with a good 80 workstations, are already well underway. The project will begin in February 2016; the intention is to keep the foundation walls, but the building will be completely gutted. Building also means shaping the future, which is why the construction should also meet the latest energy standards. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2016 – the investment will total around €1.3 million. The main location will continue to house the 250-t and 350-t machines; two welding machines will be procured for Hungary and the Czech Republic and a ventilation system will be installed to improve working conditions at Plant II in Hof.
Revenues expected to increase from 67 million to 75 million in 2016. The evening, highlighted by the performance of the GEALAN choir, the passionate theatre group and the recently founded GEALAN band, was an excellent occasion to underscore the crucial role employees play in the company’s success. Together with Gerd Laubmann, Thomas Fickenscher congratulated the employees who were celebrating anniversaries with the company and trainees who had successfully completed their training programs. Fickenscher concluded his speech with the final line of Henry Ford’s quote “working together is success”, and honoured the volunteers at ATSV Oberkotzau along with GEALAN’s very own actors and actresses, singers and musicians.
